After a successfully launching its 3G Services in Srinagar, Aircel Thursday rolled out the services in Jammu.Hub Business Head Gurmeet Makkar and Circle Operations Head Harvinder Pal Singh kicked off the much awaited services at an impressive function in Jammu.
Hub business head said that 3G is going to propel the internet penetration in the state and this facility can be used by people belonging to various shades of life.
“3G tariffs would be quite economical and these can up go up with the class of people. Fast internet, high-speed data transfer, multiplayer gaming, entertainment, Live TV, Video Calling and maximum download facility are some of the key features of our 3G service. All this would be available to our subscribers in Jammu. We have got license to run the 2G service in 22 circles and broadband wireless access in 8 circles,” said Makkar.
He added that the company would provide a range of both prepaid and postpaid 3G products and services through its company outlets in Jammu.
The rates that company offers for its 3G services include Rs 7, Rs 19, Rs 92, Rs 202, Rs 602 and Rs 975 respectively with 8MB, 25MB, 100MB, 250MB, 1GB and 2.5GB data limits, respectively suitable for all the segments like students, executives, professionals, etc.
Apart from this as an introductory offer of 250MB of Data usage and 50 minutes of video calling would be free for all subscribers of Jammu and Srinagar cities who have not experienced 3G yet for first 15 days of 3G Launch.
Customer needs to send an ‘SMS START 3G to 121’ from his 3G enabled handset to activate his Aircel 3G services.
Speaking on the occasion Gurmeet Makkar said that Aircel has got the license to run 3G Service in 13 circles of the country.
He said that the company has a subscriber base of 50 million in the country with Jammu and Kashmir accounting for 1.8 million customers both in prepaid and postpaid categories.
He further informed that the company has a share of 31 percent of mobile subscribers in the state.
Aircel is also introducing 3G dongle plans as well for its subscribers shortly.
