Mobile expected to pace India's broadband penetration


Mobile broadband subscriptions using 3G technologies in India are expected to reach 41 million connections by the end of the year, far outpacing the 11 million connections using wired technologies, according to Maravedis.

The report predicts Bharti Airtel will lead the charge in 3G connections as it moves forward with its network build, while those operators looking to deploy either WiMAX or TD-LTE using their BWA licenses are expected to lag in the near term. Bharti Airtel was the country’s largest operator with more than 146 million subscribers near the end of last year.

Samsung Infuse 4G Smartphone in India

Samsung has unveiled their new Samsung Infuse 4G handset which is the first to incorporate Super AMOLED Plus technology and has a super slim design. Samsung Infuse 4G is said to be an iPhone 4 killer and it loads of smartphone features.
Samsung Infuse 4G sports a 4.5-inch screen Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display. The smartphone runs on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and it is powered by 1.2 GHz processor.
Samsung Infuse 4G featurs 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, a front-facing 1.3 MP camera for video chat, 2GB of internal memoru card and memory can be expanded up to 32 GB with microSD card.

Kavveri Telecom Introduces Linearly Polarised CPE Antennas For 4G Technology

Telecom products manufacturer Kavveri Telecom Products Ltd. said it had introduced a linearly Polarised CPE antennas for the 4G technology for the North American Markets, the first of its kind product in the world.
The company said the product was designed and developed by its research and development department in India for the requirement of the cellular operators in North America for the LTE (4G) markets.

4G services to be launched in phased manner in India as early as 2012


4G a dream in India will soon be a reality. Even as the third generation (3G) mobile services are at a pilot stage, technology players are hopeful that the more advanced 4G will be here soon. Its economic advantage over the former besides its easy upgradeability on the existing infrastructure is a plus point for it and its popularity.
Nikhil Sadarangani of JDSU India, a provider of optical products and solutions said, "The 4G is likely to be in India sooner than later, as early as next year, because it is economically more advantageous than 3G , apart as it can be easily upgraded on the existing infrastructure." With speed as a consideration, 4G will be introduced here in a phased manner from the next year. However, its proper implementation would take some time and by 2014-15 it is likely to become a reality.
GSM providers like Vodafone and Airtel are all set to switch on fast 4G network. The companies will soon be providing 4G services to the customers who have a compatible handset. The big question here is all 4G compatible handsets are either less in terms of variety in the market or else are priced high. So it would be see what will be the growth of this 4G network in India.
With various 4G phones getting launched in India like most popular iPhone, HTC sensation 4G, T-mobile My Touch, HTC Evo 4G and many others. With rapid launch of these phones a big question was whether the customer will be able to use it all in it and with 4G coming soon to India gadget lovers can have a cheer for it.
