Airtel's mobile wallet service in Delhi

The mobile wallet service allows customers to use their mobile phones to make payments - without the hassle of carrying cash or change.


Bharti Airtel, through its wholly owned subsidiary Airtel M Commerce Services Limited, today launched its mobile wallet service for its customers in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad.

The service, named as Airtel Money, offers customers with an efficient alternative to cash transactions.

Airtel has partnerships with over 2,200 merchants in Delhi NCR including utility providers like NDPL, BSES Yamuna, BSES Rajdhani, Indraprastha Gas, LIC and organized retailers such as Easy Day, Chalchitra, Yo China, Costa Coffee, Hair n Shanti, DT Cinemas, Fun Cinemas among others as well as local chemists and grocery stores. These merchants will accept payments via Airtel Money.

Customers using Airtel Money will also be able to avail exclusive discounts and attractive offers at various merchant outlets in the market and save money as they shop.

Visa to launch mobile wallet in USA, eyes India too

Though it will be launched in the United States and Canada first later this year, Visa is planning is planning to launch the services in many emerging countries including India.


Visa, the world's largest credit and debit card processing network, is all set to launch "mobile wallet" services that would allow users to pay for goods and services through their mobile phones. 
"We are introducing new solutions for eCommerce and mobile devices that provide the same 'Visa-quality' experience--convenience, reliability and security--people enjoy when using their Visa cards at a retail location," said Joseph W Saunders, chairman and chief executive officer of Visa Inc.
The digital wallet will store Visa and non-Visa payments accounts, support NFC payments through the Visa payWave application that would allow eCommerce, mobile commerce, micropayments, social networks and person-to-person payments.

Book IPL tickets, movie shows on mobile

BEAM, a mobile wallet provider, has tied up with Book-my-show to provide ticketing services on mobile phones.


BEAM, a mobile wallet service provider, has announced the launch of its payment service to book IPL and movie tickets from mobile phones. The application is affiliated with Book my show.
With BEAM, you can book tickets of movie shows and IPL matches via its website or Bookmyshow's WAP site and mobile application.
The facility is available for more than 500 movie theatres, and matches of four IPL teams -- Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils. Kings Punjab and Rajasthan royals.
"We have been serving various services ranging from mobile recharges, travel tickets to utility bills payments and now with this new venture BEAM enters into the entertainment segment," said Anand Shrivastav, chief managing director, BEAM.
