With the chip, feature phones can have JAVA, Internet, GPS, high-def video player, 5 MP cam, 3D and Flash.
Feature phones have many features, but so far they have lacked processing powers. Spreadtrum Communications, a semiconductor company based out of China, has claimed that it has developed a new chip set that will address this problem.
The chip set based on ARM9 CPU will offer JAVA, Internet access, GPS navigation, high-definition video player, a 5 megapixel camera, 3D and Flash user interface and more in feature phones.
